The Hidrovor spot, in the lagoon near Zvërnec 20 minutes from Vlorë, is one of Albania's very few flat-water spots: shallow bottom, no waves, thermal north wind picking up in the early afternoon. Perfect conditions for learning and for lagoon downwinders.
Albania's kite scene is tiny — three schools in the whole country — which means two things: empty spots even in August and emerging-market prices (taster lesson from €60, full beginner course from €130/day, gear rental from €15). IKO instructors with recent equipment.
The season runs from May to October, with June-September best for the thermal. If you're an experienced kiter looking for waves, this is not your spot (look at Dhërmi or the northern Adriatic); if you want flat water, fast progression and zero traffic, Hidrovor is a gem.

How many lessons to become independent?
