Activities & tours in Vlorë, Albania
6-metre RIB with no licence or with a skipper: you decide where to stop, how long to stay, when to return
Direct booking with local operators: no hidden fees, free cancellation up to 48h before.
If organised tours feel too tight, a rental RIB is the answer: with a 6-metre / 40 hp boat (drivable without a boating licence) you explore Vlorë bay and the Karaburun coast in total freedom. 6 seats, sun canopy, shower, bathing ladder. Typical day 09:00-17:00, fuel excluded (about 7-8 litres/hour).
The classic self-drive route: out of the harbour, skirting Sazan (note: landing forbidden outside St. Nicholas bay and no fishing within 1 mile), Haxhi Ali Cave from the outside, then the bays of Shën Vasil and Dafina for swimming. Our itinerary page has the full route with sailing times and restricted zones.
Not confident driving? For €50 more you get a skipper on board: same RIB, zero worries, and a local who takes you to the best coves according to the wind. In July-August available RIBs sell out 2-3 days ahead: book before you arrive.
Correct: in Albania a RIB up to 40 hp can be driven without a boating licence, from 18 years. Before departure there's a 20-30 minute briefing on controls, routes and restrictions.
Depends on the route: for the classic Sazan + Haxhi Ali + bays loop count on €40-60 of petrol. The tank leaves full and returns full.
Only in St. Nicholas bay (June-November). The rest of the island is a restricted military zone: you skirt it without approaching the shore.
Yes, usually €200-300 in cash or a card hold, returned on undamaged return. No deposit with a skipper.
