Kitesurf taster lesson at Hidrovor: your first day with the kite

The taster lesson is the smartest way to find out if kiting is for you: 2-3 hours with an IKO instructor at Albania's easiest flat-water spot, between wind theory, kite control on land and — if all goes well — the first sensations in the water.

Direct booking with local operators: no hidden fees, free cancellation up to 48h before.

Hidrovor's spot is why learning here is easier than elsewhere: shallow bottom (you can stand almost everywhere), flat water with no waves, steady thermal north wind picking up in the early afternoon. No traffic from other kiters: even in August the spot is half empty.

The lesson covers: safety and the wind window, setting up and controlling the trainer kite on land, body dragging in the water (being pulled by the kite, the most fun part for beginners). The board comes in the later lessons of the beginner course.

Frequently asked questions

Will I get on the board in the first lesson?

Honestly: no, almost nobody manages in 2-3 hours. Body dragging yes, and that's already great fun. For the board you need the 3-4 day beginner course.

How much wind is needed?

The school works with 10-25 knots: Hidrovor's thermal typically blows 12-20 knots in the afternoon.
