Activities & tours in Vlorë, Albania
From the 2,044 m Çika peak to panoramic trails above the Riviera — 40 minutes from Vlorë
Direct booking with local operators: no hidden fees, free cancellation up to 48h before.
Llogara National Park starts where the coastal road ends: 40 minutes from Vlorë (even easier since 2024 thanks to the tunnel) you climb from zero to 1,027 metres through pine and beech forests, with the air changing completely from the coast. From here the most beautiful trails of southern Albania begin.
The queen hike is Çika peak (2,044 m): the highest summit of the Ceraunian Mountains, the ones plunging into the Ionian Sea. Full day with a guide (groups of max 9 people), demanding elevation gain but a non-technical route: on clear days at the top you can see as far as Italy. The softer alternative is Caesar's Path — where legend has it Julius Caesar passed — with views over Vlorë bay and the ruins of Orikum.
The season runs from April to October (even longer at altitude). Our advice: combine hiking and paragliding on the same day — climb in the cool morning, fly in the afternoon when the thermals are perfect.
Demanding but non-technical: 1,000-1,100 metres of elevation gain, 7-8 hours total. Good fitness and hiking shoes are needed. No mountaineering equipment required.
Almost: 3-4 hours, moderate elevation, suitable also for families with children over 10 who are used to walking.
You carry a packed lunch (we prepare it on request) and on the way back you often stop at one of the panoramic restaurants at the Llogara Pass: grilled lamb and mountain yogurt.
Yes, it's the best month to escape the coastal heat: at altitude it's 8-10 degrees cooler. We start early to avoid the hottest hours lower down.
