The dive takes place in the calm, sheltered waters of Radhimë, south of Vlorë, where visibility reaches 15-20 metres and the bottom slopes gently. You learn to breathe from the regulator, equalize your ears and move underwater: after 10 minutes of initial nerves comes the moment you understand why people fall in love with diving.
If try-scuba hooks you (it almost always does), the natural next step is the PADI Open Water course: in Vlorë it costs from €350 and is completed in 3-4 days — the lowest price in Europe for getting certified in a marine park.

Frequently asked questions
I'm scared: is that normal?
Very normal, and the instructor knows: you proceed in steps, first in shallow water where you can stand, then gradually deeper. If you don't feel right, you come back up no problem and try again.
After try-scuba can I do more dives?
Yes, as an accompanied 'try diver', but to dive independently you need the Open Water certification.
Do you see anything at 6-8 metres?
A lot: Mediterranean fauna lives right in the first metres. Sea breams, saddled breams, octopuses, starfish and posidonia meadows.
